Warranty
Original receipt is needed to discuss any warranty issues with the frame manufacturer, bicycle builder or for service warranty issues (it has the date when bicycle was purchased or serviced and list of components that were replaced or the bicycle built with).Warranty on bicycles that are purchased at Bicycle Doctor: - bearings, brakes and gear adjustments only are warranted for 30 days;Ttere is NO warranty on flat tires and bent parts(for example- wheels).
- Frames, we sell are warranted by their manufacturer (for example: Bianchi frames for 5 to 10 years depending on material they made out of). Please, contact manufacturers or visit their websites for more information on their warranty;
- Individual components of the bicycle are warranted by their manufacturers against manufacturer defects only (for example: Bianchi parts are warranted for 1 year). Please, contact manufacturers or visit their websites for more information on their warranty.
Failures of the parts due to accidents or crashes are not covered. Consumable parts like tires, innertubes, brake shoes, cables, saddles, handlebar grips, drivetrain components(chain,cassete) or handlebar tape are not covered against wear and punctures.
Repairs, new part installation and mantainence done at the shop are warranted for 30 days for labor that was performed for repair made only and pats replaced only which is recorded on the service tag(receipt) that should be presented by the customer to discuss any issues. Individual parts that were replaced during repair are warranted by their manufacturers against manufacturer defects only. Failures of the parts due to accidents or crashes are not covered. Truing the wheels (wheels on new bicycles, replasement wheels) are not warranted at all-we do the best job we can to tension and true the wheels weather it is wheel on the new bicycle, inexpensive replacement wheel or hand built wheel .Usually properly repaired or built wheels stay straight for long time, but wheels will go out of true eventually (how soon -can not be estimated) depending on the riders weight, riding style and habits-that beyond our controll, and we can not be responsible for it.
Flat tire repair is not warranted at all. During flat tire repair we clear the tire off ant foreign objects that got stuck in rubber and install new innertube. The minute bicycle goes out of the shop it will be ridden on the street with plenty of glass, nails staples and other foreign objects that can cause punctures, which can happened any time - it could be 1 year after repair or 1 minute after repair was done.
Innertubes that are purchased in the shop are not exchangeable or refundable. Even if they clamed "untouched" and not removed from the box.
The shop will assist with warranty issues only on parts purchased from Bicycle Doctor.
Please, be advised that some replacement (usually, inexpensive "no name”) components are not warranted by their manufacturers or manufacturers are not accessible in USA. Thouse parts are warranted only for 30 days by our shop. This is customer responsibility (not shops mechanic or sales person) to choose replacement parts for their bicycle and inquire about manufacturer warranty on them. Usually the better quality the part -the longer it will last, the more expensive it is, the better warranty policy it has. We stock and strongly recommend to equip your bicycle with parts made by well known and reputable manufacturers that offer warranty and have warranty centers in USA. (Campagnolo, Shimano, Sram, Wite industy, Phil Wood, Kris King, Mavic, etc).
Please, do not confuse with preb built wheels that sold individualy or prebuilt wheels that sold with custom built bicycles.
- Wheel design (spoke count and spoke pattern) has to be the wheel builder's choice in order to grant this warranty;
- Component choice (rim, hub, spokes) has to be approved by the wheel builder in order to grant this warranty;
- Spokes only have to be purchased from our shop in order to grant this warranty .rim and hub can be purchased elsewhere.
All custom wheels come with a 3-year warranty against broken spokes. This covers all broken spokes, wheel rebuilds due to spoke failure. These wheels also warranted for 30 days if they go out of true from normal riding.accidents and abusive riding void this warranty.
Individual wheel components: hubs and rims carry their manufacturers warranty. Failure of the parts due to accidents or crashes or made by foreign object is neither covered by wheel builder(the shop) nor by manufacturers of rims and hubs. The most of the hub manufacturers do not cover the hubs failure if it was radially laced to the rim.
